About Siem Reap

Siem Reap is Cambodia’s second-largest city and capital of its province, sitting near the vast Angkor Wat temple grounds.

The city had roughly 225,000 residents in 2019 and serves as the main entry point for tourists visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site.

Beyond temples, Siem Reap features traditional markets like the Old Market (Phsar Chas) near the river and Phsar Krom, a local market south of town with minimal tourist signage. The Cambodian Landmine Museum, located nearby, offers insight into the country’s recent history.
